5x10 Improvement Workshop
Homeowners can learn how to take five steps for no more than $5000 by 2010 and dramatically improve their home's energy efficiency. The free 5x10 Improvement workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 21st from 7-9 p.m. at 250 N. Myrtle Avenue in Elmhurst. Attendees will create a personal action plan to estimate top projects, budget and potential tax credit. To encourage open-minded planning, ENERGY STAR best practices will be shared but no individual products or services will be promoted. Attendees who implement their action plan can expect to save 10-30% on their utility bills every month, earn a tax credit up to $1500 and protect the long-term resale value of their home.
The workshop is presented by Laura Reedy Stukel , EcoBroker Certified sales agent with L.W. Reedy Real Estate. The workshop draws on her own project that earned her recognition as Better Homes & Gardens magazine's 2008 Green Improvements remodeling winner. The meeting will be held at the first new green home of its kind for sale in Elmhurst.
