7th Annual Elmhurst College Governmental Forum: Illinois' Reckoning
The 7th Annual Elmhurst College Governmental Forum is titled, Illinois' Reckoning: Solving the Problems, Fulfilling the Promise. Moderating the discussion is Illinois' longest-serving governor, James R. Thompson. The panelists include: NBC-Channel 5 political reporter Mary Ann Ahern; Ty Fahner, president of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago; Chicago Tribune Editorial Page Editor Bruce Dold; Tod Miles, Senior Vice President of Public Finance at the Chicago office of Hutchinson Shockey Erley & Co., an investment banking firm; and Robert C. Knuepfer Jr., a partner with Baker & McKenzie, LLP and Elmhurst College trustee. The Governmental Forum is the culminating event of the Elmhurst College lecture series Fixing Illinois: A Great State's Problems and Promise. The goal of the series was to start an ongoing discussion, led by lawmakers and policy experts, on the challenges that Illinois faces, and to empower citizens to help address those challenges and move the state forward.
