“Papa Hemingway In Cuba,” starring Chicago actor Adrian Sparks in the lead role as writer Ernest Hemingway, was shot over a 15-month period of time. Thought to be the first movie to be filmed inside Finca La Vigia, Hemingway’s home in Cuba that now serves as a museum, “Papa Hemingway in Cuba” chronicles Hemingway’s time in Havana, Cuba in the 1950s. The film tells the story of journalist Denne Bart Petitclerc’s friendship with Hemingway, with Giovanni Ribisi playing his role in the movie. [R – 110 minutes]
In response to many requests for more art-related films at the York Theatre, Classic Cinemas created Art@York to feature art and foreign movies on the second Wednesday of every month.
