ELMHURST COLLEGE PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE
The Elmhurst College Percussion Ensemble will present its spring concert, with special guest percussionist and composer Glenn Kotche, on April 16 at Elmhurst College. Glenn Kotche has drawn the praise of peers from across the musical spectrum. He has appeared on more than 80 recordings by diverse artists, including Andrew Bird, Edith Frost, Neil Finn and Radiohead's Phil Selway. He also is a founding member of two bands: Loose Fur, with Wilco Frontman, Jeff Tweedy and longtime collaborator Jim O'Rourke; and On Fillmore, with upright bassist Darin Gray. The Elmhurst College Percussion Ensemble was formed in 1993 with the goal of introducing its student members to high-quality music written or transcribed for percussion instruments. Under the direction of Elmhurst music faculty member Bob Rummage, the Percussion Ensemble will perform at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel (190 Prospect Avenue, www.elmhurst.edu/campusmap).
