Elmhurst College to Host Hall of Fame Coach Tom Osborne on March 29
To college football fans, few names are more synonymous with winning than Tom Osborne. Over his 25-year career as head coach at the University of Nebraska, Osborne's Cornhuskers compiled a 255-49-3 record, including three national championships. After retiring in 1998 with his final national championship in hand, Osborne was almost immediately inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Osborne will present A Lifetime of Lessons, On and Off the Field, on March 29 at Elmhurst College.
Widely known for his leadership, integrity and compassion, Osborne founded the TeamMates program to support school-age youth, help them graduate from high school and pursue a post-secondary education. He also served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives before returning to the University of Nebraska in 2007 to serve for several years as the university's athletic director. Osborne holds master's and doctorate degrees in educational psychology from the University of Nebraska.
Osborne's talk will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel (190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst, www.elmhurst.edu/campusmap). Admission is free. For more information, call (630) 617-5186.
