Elmhurst Pointe, located at 111 West Third Street (just west of York Road), is a 32-unit residential community for active and independent seniors. Its downtown location promotes a healthy walkable lifestyle, offering residents convenient access to nearby restaurants, banks, shops and the Metra. "Boutique" amenities are also available, including housekeeping, transportation and concierge services, as well as on- and off-site social activities. Street level shopping and a public restaurant are planned for the site, along with special discounts for residents. "We are excited to bring this unique style of senior living to downtown Elmhurst," said Rodger Brown, director of project management for Elmhurst Pointe. "Location is very important when choosing where to spend retirement, and we want to make sure our residents’ lives are as easy and convenient as possible. Elmhurst has a great downtown, so all of the amenities they need are right in their backyard." In addition, Elmhurst Pointe residents can receive reciprocal services at its 30-unit sister community, LaGrange Pointe, located at 51 East Cossitt Avenue (the northeast corner of Cossitt Ave. and La Grange Road) in downtown La Grange, Ill.
Elmhurst Pointe is open with one- and two- bedroom units available. IRED Elmhurst offers flexible financing and move-in options. For more information about Elmhurst Pointe and upcoming events visit www.elmhurstpointe.com About Elmhurst Pointe Elmhurst Pointe is an alternative to the typical retirement community. A small, intimate community comprised of 32 residences, Elmhurst Pointe is designed to encourage residents to maintain healthy and active lifestyles. Due to the smaller campus size, Elmhurst Pointe is able to provide a high level of customer service that is supportive and family-like. Elmhurst Pointe is an example of the urban planning trend of creating more walkable communities. For residents, an in-town setting is beneficial because it provides natural intergenerational interaction and a one-to-two block distance to shops, dining and entertainment helping seniors to remain active, engaged and a part of the greater community.
