On Monday, April 20, the Student Government Association at Elmhurst College will welcome Crain's Chicago Business columnist and blogger Greg Hinz, who will present Chicago Politics: The Good, The Bad, The Future. Hinz is this years lecturer for the Andrew K. Prinz Guestship for Political Awareness. A prize-winning reporter, Hinz writes about politics and government in Chicago, in Illinois and around the nation. He also writes frequently on such public policy issues as education, transportation and economic development. A graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Hinz joined Crain's in 1996 after four years as a political editor of Chicago Magazine and nearly two decades as political editor and a columnist with the Lerner Newspapers chain. His work has been honored by the Society of Business Editors and Writers and the Chicago Headline Club, among other professional organizations. Hinzs lecture marks the thirteenth Prinz Guestship speaker that the Student Government Association has brought to Elmhurst College. SGA established the Andrew K. Prinz Guestship for Political Awareness to honor the legacy of one of the College's most beloved teachers, professor emeritus Dr. Andrew K. Prinz. Professor Prinz died in 2009. Hinzs talk will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center (190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst, www.elmhurst.edu/campusmap).
