Elmhurst History Museum hosts a free Summer Spectacular on July 17 to celebrate the "But Wait, There's More!" exhibit.
Join us for this outrageously fun celebration of invention, innovation, and the allure of Ronco and Popeil products on Sunday, July 17 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Isn't that Amazing! Summer Spectacular takes place on the Elmhurst History Museum grounds, located at 120 E. Park Ave. in Elmhurst. This free event for all ages is designed to showcase the appeal and spiel of Ronco and Popeil products - from the Pocket Fisherman and Mr. Microphone to the Inside the Egg Scramber, Miracle Boom and countless more. The afternoon will include the following activites:
* Product Demonstration Booth: Watch product Demonstrators as they test out an array of Ronco and Popeil products throughout the day.
* Ronco Chef Challenge: Don't miss the chance to watch three local chefs dazzle the audience with their amazing chopping skills as they use products like the Veg-O-Matic, Chop-O-Matic, and Kitchen Magician to create dishes and compete for the Golden Veg-O-Matic trophy. Participating Elmhurst chefs include: Alvaro Sosa from Cafe Amano; Ben Sheagren of One Fifty One Kitchen + Bar; and Stuart McLuckie from OMG! Brunch & Boutique. The challence will take place at 2 p.m.
* Mr. Microphone Karaoke Contest: Don't be shy - we know you've got singing chops! Sign up to participate in the Mr. Microphone Karaoke Contest taking place at 3 p.m.
* Invention Station: Kids can try out one of the Museum's portable Invention Boxes to create their own amazing devices (one per family).
* Tour: The But Wait, There's More! exhibit inside the Glos Mansion will be open to the public free of charge.
* Sno-Cones will be available for purchase from Tropical Sno.
