Mayor Candidate Business Forum

The City of Elmhurst’s three Mayoral candidates will be quizzed on important programs and issues related to business and economic development at a March 20 forum for members of the co-sponsoring Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Elmhurst City Centre.

The Mayoral Candidate Business Forum will be held in the second floor banquet room at Angelo’s Ristorante (247 North York Street) in downtown Elmhurst on Wednesday, March 20, from 6 to 7:30 or 8 p.m.

A 60-minute Meet and Greet with the candidates—7th Ward Alderman Mark Mulliner, 6th Ward Alderman Steve Morley and 1st Ward Alderman Diane Gutenkauf—will precede the forum, starting at 5 p.m.  Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided compliments of City Centre.

ECCI President and CEO John R. Quigley will serve as the forum’s moderator.

Candidates will be asked to discuss their positions on a variety of business issues.  Possible topics include Eminent Domain, Home Rule Sales Taxes, Tax Abatement, Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Districts, Special Service Areas (SSAs), Public/Private Partnerships, Property Acquisition, Retail Development Grants and Facade Grants.

The forum is open only to members of the Chamber or City Centre, with seats filled on a first-come basis.  Seating is limited at 150.

"Elmhurst:  Our Kind of Town” air the forum live via the internet and will tape the forum to air in late March and early April on Channel 6 of Comcast and Channel 99 of U-Verse, leading up to the Consolidated Elections on Tuesday, April 9.
