Seminar: Easing the Transition to a Memory Care Community
One of the most emotional decisions a family can make is choosing to move a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia into a memory care community. Even knowing it's the right choice doesn't distract from the feelings of guilt, helplessness and depression that often accompany this decision. At Terra Vista, we understand since many of us have stood in your shoes with our own family members. We are here to support families in coping with the pragmatic and emotional impact of this transition. We help families understand what to expect and how to remain involved and connected, while promoting successful and meaningful visits. Seminar Objectives: Focus on how to best cope with feelings of guilt, Introduce ways to ease the fears of resistant parents, Provide helpful tips to manage the smoothest possible transition, Understand the family's supportive role in helping their loved one adjust to the memory care community.
Presented by Natalie McFarland, BSN, RN Alzheimer's expert & certified dementia care trainer. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
