York Theatre Premieres Indie Pakistani Film "Josh"
Classic Cinemas' York Theatre presents a special, one-time-only showing of the critically acclaimed independent film "Josh" (2012). Following a stellar run in theatres across Pakistan, the film will be shown at the York Theatre, located at 150 North York Street in downtown Elmhurst on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 PM. Director Iram Parveen Bilal will introduce the film and take questions from audience members after the show. Patrons have the option to purchase a VIP ticket and receive special "Josh" film merchandise. Students with a valid school ID are welcomed at a discounted price. The story follows a privileged schoolteacher (Fatima) living in Karachi whose life is shattered when her beloved and seemingly simple nanny, Nusrat, inexplicably disappears. Fatima leaves the comfort of her upper class life in search of a dangerous truth in Nusrat's feudal village. "Being poor and powerless doesn't take away our right to live," reads a quote from the film sure to strike a chord in the hearts of viewers all over the world.
