Elmhurst College to Host Bird Walk on May 10
The Elmhurst College Sustainability Committee will host a bird walk on campus on Tuesday morning, May 10. The walk will be led by student birder Glenn Perricone. Elmhurst College is a registered arboretum and provides great stop-over habitat for migrant birds such as warblers and thrushes. The walk will last no longer than an hour, and will be open to new bird watchers. A limited supply of loaner binoculars will be available. Complimentary bird-friendly coffee, coffee specially certified as organic and shade-grown, to protect forest habitats will be served before the walk begins. The bird walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, in front of Illinois Hall, Schaible Science Center (190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst, www.elmhurst.edu/campusmap). Admission is free. Bird-friendly coffee will be served from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
