The LENS Walk against Poverty was created for those who are passionate about helping others in extreme poverty. Even more important, the walk provides an opportunity to learn what actions you, as an individual, can take to effectively alleviate poverty. The word "LENS" stands for Learn - Empower - Nurture - Save. It represents the process individuals go through when they discover how to help a person in need. They first learn about the solutions to global poverty, then feel empowered to help, then nurture someone in need by turning their passion into action, and finally the person they helped becomes saved. LENS is also an important metaphor for bringing the solutions to global poverty into focus.
