Michael Klaus Schmidt: American Islamic Art
Original paintings and drawings by EAG member and Elmhurst artist, Michael Klaus Schmidt. Reception, open to the public, will be held Friday, January 21, from 7 to 9 pm.
In his quest to create a new genre of American Islamic Art, Michael strives to remain within Islamic guidelines while following his own artistic muse in choosing subject matter. His art serves as a bridge between his American culture and his Islamic beliefs. Michael's artwork has been exhibited recently in Saudi Arabia, New Orleans, and Chicago.
