Self-Taught Artist Merges Primitive with Postmodern
A new solo exhibition at the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild, featuring self-taught artist Peter M Steeves, runs from June 18 through July 19 in the EAG Gallery at the Elmhurst Art Museum, 150 S. Cottage Hill Ave., Elmhurst, Illinois. A meet-the-artist reception will be held in the gallery Friday, June 21, from 6 to 9 pm. Both the show and the reception are open to the public. An active member of the Guild, Steeves describes his work as merging elements of primitive symbolic, postmodern realism with a bit of a surrealistic twist.
