Strides Against MG Walk
TAKES STRIDES AGAINST AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE
The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois hosts its first “Strides Against MG” 1-mile, 3-mile, and Kids’ Dash charity walk at Berens Park on Sunday, June 2. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the first walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
“My friend, Marita, struggles with this rare autoimmune disease,” notes Elmhurst College student Erin O’Loughlin. “I can’t fix it, but I want to give her my support.” Erin will join dozens of friends, family members and myasthenics to raise the public profile of this life-changing disease. Proceeds will help MGF of Illinois provide patient support and education, raise awareness among the public and healthcare community, and directly fund vital medical research.
To register for the “Strides Against MG” walk, go to www.myastheniagravis.org or call the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois at 1-800-888-6208. Fees are $30 per walker ($35 on walk day) and $10 for each child under age 12. Walker packets can be picked up on walk day, or in advance at Elmhurst's Fleet Feet Sports, 124 E. Schiller Street on Thursday and Friday, 5/30 and 5/31 from 4p.m. to 7p.m.
