Volunteer Tutor Training at Elmhurst Public Library

Help change someone’s future…become an adult literacy tutor today! Imagine not being able to read a food label, complete a job application, or help a child with homework. Many of your neighbors in the Elmhurst area need assistance in learning to read, write, speak and understand English as they struggle with these everyday tasks. Literacy DuPage, in partnership with the Elmhurst Public Library, is offering a way that you can help someone with limited English discover his or her full potential. Our tutor training will teach you how to assist adults by providing one-on-one tutoring at a time and place convenient for you and the adult learner. No teaching background or second language is required. Join us for the tutor training workshop series of six sessions as follows: Sept 4, 11, 16, 18, and October 2, 2013 from 9:45 am to 12:45 pm. at the Elmhurst Public Library.
